1978 BMW R100*/7 FOR SALE

History:

I bought the bike in 1995 from A&S BMW (now in Roseville, CA).  They stated that it was a trade-in.  It was in great shape then and had around 40,000 miles on it, with no signs of ever being crashed or even laid down.

I rode the bike gently in fair weather approximately 7,000 miles over the past 25 years.  I always check the oil pre-ride.  The bike has always been garaged over the past 25 years.

I have never dropped the bike or laid it down.

I have had the bike tuned and maintained at both A&S and Ozzie’s over the years.

* In 2004, the motor failed, and I took it to Ozzie’s BMW in Chico to replace the engine with a rebuilt vintage engine.  Ozzie had a very good R80 engine on hand and put that one on the bike (himself), along with all of the necessary replacement parts necessary at that time to make it operate like new.  Since then, I have ridden the bike less than 500 miles on the new engine.

Other than the engine rebuild and regular maintenance, the only repairs that have been necessary since I have owned this bike are batteries, fuel petcocks, and replacement of the rear shocks. 

Why am I selling it?  None of your business.  Just kidding.  I know you'll ask, so I'll tell you:  It has been sitting in the garage so long taking up space that I realized that I really don't ride it enough to keep it.  I have too many other things to do these days with my limited free time.  Someone else should have a chance to ride it and enjoy it as much as I did.  I'll be sorry to see it go, and will probably regret selling it the moment you take it away.
